What this means to us:

We aspire to maintain a positive and charitable culture where success is shared, difficulty is normalized, and well-being is supported.  We value everyone as individual human beings.  

How we enact it:

• We maintain a welcoming “home base” atmosphere. We have weekly meetings with built in time to share success and difficulties alike. Whether celebrating the latest accepted paper or seeking help on a coding nightmare, we stand by each other. 

• We have a positive and open attitude toward taking vacations and time away from our work to rest and/or process personal issues and current events. 

• We step up to help each other when personal issues interfere or work loads become unmanageable. 

• We have get-togethers and celebrations (of both personal and professional successes) outside of the lab!
