Study procedures:
You will first complete this brief online pre-screening. If you are found to be eligible, the study team will access your medical record to confirm your eligibility.
If you are determined to be eligible according to a medical record review, we will schedule you for an online initial session with a study staff member (about 1 hour). In this online initial session, we will collect electronic informed consent and explain the study protocol for collecting blood samples at home and answer daily prompts in your smartphone.
Following the online initial session, we will mail the study kits to your preferred address. The study team will maintain contact with you to confirm receipt of the kit. Prior to the start of the 6-day study period, you will complete a baseline survey. This must be completed before the 6-day study begins.
Upon receipt of the kit, you will begin the study on a Thursday and conclude on the following Tuesday (six consecutive days). You will receive four daily prompts on your smartphone and one end-of-the-day diary to share your daily social experiences. Additionally, you will prick your finger to collect a blood sample every day for the six days, completing a brief accompanying survey immediately after each collection to log the exact time and context of your sample.
Upon completion of the 6-day study, you will mail the blood samples back to us using the prepaid envelope.
